October 30th, 2009 Australian public broadcaster ABC has purchased ‘The Magic of Audrey: An unauthorized story on Audrey Hepburn’, for broadcast on ABC1 and ABC2, slated to be aired in November 2009.
The one-hour special was a promising development for World Wide Entertainment. “We were always excited about Audrey," said Creative Director Marilyn Higgins. "She is such an important personality both on- and off-screen, and we really believe that this product lives up to her legacy of elegance and grace.”
‘The Magic of Audrey’ tells the story of Audrey Hepburn’s eventful life. From her childhood during the second world war and early life as a ballerina, it follows her journey across the Atlantic to America, where she traded dance for drama and became recognized for her beguiling, off-beat characters. Hepburn later became a vocal campaigner for UNICEF, working as a Goodwill Ambassador in some of the world’s most disadvantaged regions. ‘The Magic of Audrey’ screens on ABC1 on the 22nd of November, and ABC2 on the 15th November 2009.
